The longest-running series on The CW (and its predecessors) is coming to an end.
It’s almost hard to believe that Supernatural has been on the air for 14 years, but it seems it’s time for the actors to move on to new adventures.
Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins have made the announcement today on social media. You can find it below.
The stars have always said they would do the show until they no longer wanted to do it.
From the announcement, it seems the decision was all theirs.
“Well, it’s official. One more round for the Winchester brothers. Though nothing ever really ends in Supernatural…does it?”

“Firstly, we would like to thank all the people who have been involved with the show both in front of and behind the camera.
“For us it has been an experience of a lifetime. The support we have had from both Warner Bros Television and The CW has been incredible.
We’d like to give special thanks to Jensen, Jared and Misha for making this journey so special.
“It is now most important to us to give these characters that we love the send-off they deserve,” exec producers Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb said in a joint statement.
The show will have aired 327 episodes by the time the series concludes.
That’s a heck of an achievement for any show, but for a genre show, it’s outstanding.
It is the longest-running sci-fi/genre series in the history of American television.
If we hear more from stars, we’ll update this post.
